About

I am a Fan of the unique and fabulous.  As I navigate my family’s life through the West End of Richmond, Virginia (which is the center of the East Coast) and beyond, I intentionally try to keep my eyes opened, ears pealed and brain engaged in search of that which is beautiful, helpful, delicious, a great deal or just plain fun.  A modern-day, Suburban explorer, I love discovering new delights whether I am shopping, travelling, reading, visiting with girlfriends, meeting new people, attending an event or undertaking a new experience.  I am Avad about my finds not because I don’t know how to spell but because it is a play on my names.

Second only to the fun of finding the fabulous is sharing it with others.  I am blessed with some wonderful friends who also delight in exchanging information about our newest finds.  Lately, with schedules that just get busier and busier, we seem to rely a lot on emails for these exchanges if we can even take the time to share.

A former professional and professional volunteer, I have been a blog fan/junkie for the last two plus years and have loved the feeling of getting to know some very talented bloggers from all over the continent.  These women (and one or two men) have opened up my mind and regularly inspire me as I seek to engage my creative soul.  It finally dawned on me that I could use a blog as a regular forum for sharing fabulous finds with friends old and new.  If you’re an Avad Fan, please join the fun, subscribe and share your fabulous finds, too.

What a terrific new blog! Love that you’re reaching for creativity right here in our own city. Yey!

  2. Check out a new floral design book called Bringing the Garden Home on Amazon.com. It might be a good review for your Floraspirations blog. Fleur de Vie has ordered one! Loved your baccalaureate flowers….

Thanks for your kind words about the Ruth & Ollie Dining Room at the RSOL designer house. We are glad you liked it. Yesterday Traditional Home was here to photograph the room for their magazine!!!

    Keep up the great work!
